If you asked me a couple years ago about reiki I wouldn’t even know how to pronounce the word. This beautiful practice has given me so much light and is a true gift I offer to others.
But what is it?
The word reiki is a Japanese word meaning “Universal Life Energy.” It is an incredible, highly vibrational, intelligent energy that purifies, balances, harmonizes, and cleanses on the physical, emotional, mental, and spiritual levels. Reiki has the ability to bring us back to our natural and whole state; it is a chance to slow down and quiet the mind in a sacred space.
During a reiki session, positive energy flows between the practitioner and the client to cleanse the body from accumulated toxins and stagnant pain. It soothes shock, calms the mind and emotions, and accelerates the body’s natural ability to heal itself while promoting a state of total relaxation and well-being.
Reiki is a powerful tool to help regain inner strength, gain clarity, and find balance.
Many people visit a reiki practitioner to strengthen their overall wellness, reduce pain, stress, and anxiety, and help manage symptoms and support recovery. Whether it is a hands-on or hands-off experience, it can assist in the body’s natural healing process by balancing the body’s energy centers, known as the chakras. This practice is commonly known as energy healing. A reiki practitioner acts as a guide in the energy healing process by attuning to the subtly expressed needs of the client's body.
Reiki can help uncover new insight and self-awareness to reveal something much deeper than what we think we want or need. Clients often experience clarity to help with decision making and strengthen their communication with others. It is an opportunity to connect with our higher selves.
Reiki can also be self-administered as part of a gentle healing practice. By mindfully opening ourselves up to receive light and energy, we can let go of heavy thoughts and create the space to feel the energy already within us. We will notice where energy blocks are held within the body and learn how to release them so that our chakras can be cleared for healing.
